RAIN BARRELS

GBG donated rain barrels to downtown businesses including the Atlantic Hotel.

The painted rain barrel project is the result of students who needed to fill their service learning requirement for graduation. The Dolphin Team decided to do something environmentally friendly, which provided them an opportunity to develop an appreciation for the environment, and an understanding of how their individual choices have an impact on the Earth.

BERLIN LIBRARY GARDEN HARVEST 2010


Grow Berlin Green and LESSON combined forces to plant and harvest a garden located at the Berlin Library.
The food was donated to Diakonia, a local crisis shelter located in Ocean City, Maryland.

2010 BERLIN CHRISTMAS PARADE FLOAT

Lots of prep work from lots of volunteers helped get the Grow Berlin Green's upcycled Christmas tree into the cycle stage.

Beginning stages of building and creating this amazing upcycled green tree.

Additional items were also made from recyclables help complete the float for the Berlin Christmas Parade.
Gifts made from cans and wreaths made from plastic bags.

Grow Berlin Green's upcycled tree is constructed from 999 recycled plastic bottles, decorated with garlands
made of styrofoam packing peanuts and topped with a star made from yogurt foil tops.
Grow Berlin Green encourages everyone in the community to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Grow Berlin Green held several Holiday Workshops that demonstrated using natural elements from the Earth to be
constructed into beautiful wreaths and swags, and upcycling recycled plastic bottles into snowmen and angels. It engaged
the community of Berlin to work together creating decorations from recyclable and natural materials while enjoying the
Holiday spirit with one another.

ARE DREAMING OF A "GREEN" CHRISTMAS 2011

The early stages of the Town of Berlin Christmas tree before it's decorated...My'Oh'My - What a Beauty!
This beauty of a tree was provided by Bruce Nichols and Nichols Farm in Hebron. Troy Purnell donated
the funds to pay for the tree, and Ron Cascio helped with identifying Nichols Farm and logistics.
Nichols Farm was selected as the vendor in recognition of their sustainable tree farming practices.

The tree proudly displayed in front of the Atlantic Hotel on Main Street.
